Drone as First Responder (DFR)
New York City Police Department (NYPD) was granted a waiver allowing flight beyond the line of sight (BVLOS) across much of New York City with no visual observer and no expensive additional equipment.
Infrastructure Inspection
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) was granted a waiver allowing flight beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) for inspection at substations, power generation facilities, and transmission lines. This enabled fully remote operations, with no personnel on site.
