About the role:

Skydio is seeking an enthusiastic flight test engineer to help validate the next generation of Skydio products. Skydio builds innovative flying platforms and Software to control them. This role will be focused on working with all products that Skydio has to offer. As an FTE, you will be responsible for working cross functionally with various teams and spearheading both software and hardware validation specific to Skydio Japan flight test operations.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Run smoke and regression tests to validate system confidence
  • Test & verify Skydio wireless systems meet design requirements and specifications
  • Validating Skydio Dock full end to end experience, working closely with the engineers to identify and close gaps on major issues
  • Assist in validating new customer facing software features
  • Capture and surface product limitation early in the development cycle to improve performance and market fit
  • Validate SW changes to ensure a stable flying platform
  • Assist in collection of flight data for competitive benchmarking
  • Occasionally interface with customers to help support integration and test needs

What makes you a good fit:

  • Knowledge in wireless communication systems including WiFi and Cellular Technologies
  • Software QA/testing background
  • Fluent in both Japanese English
  • Part 107 Certification
  • Understanding of UAS subsystems and their real world performance
  • Solid debugging of hardware and software systems
  • Enjoy working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Consider yourself a jack of all trades
  • Practical experience with UAS
  • Basic mechanical and electrical system integration knowledge
  • Experience operating Linux based systems
  • Demonstrated passion for things that fly (sUAS Pilot's license)
  • Thorough communication and documentation skills
  • Interest in spending time outdoors
  • Experience testing web based applications

Compensation Range: Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
