Inspecting dams and bridges can be a difficult task, requiring snooper trucks or climbers to inspect the underside of the structure. Even manual drones are unable to get reliable, high-quality footage of the underside of the structure due to their untrustworthy obstacle avoidance. With 3D Scan, a Skydio can autonomously scan the bridge and provide a detailed 3D reconstruction to help inspectors detect even the smallest cracks in concrete, while also opening up doors for digital twins and virtualized asset bases.
