About the role:

Skydio is seeking an enthusiastic flight test operator to help validate the Skydio product feature set associated with photogrammetry and 3D model generation. This marquee feature, 3D Scan, enables users of any experience level to capture and create high fidelity professional grade models. This role requires a rigorous approach to field testing complex systems and their capabilities across a wide spectrum of environmental and operating conditions. It is required to be local and in office for this role.


How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop new test cases based on Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), Requests for Comment (RFCs), and Figma design prototypes
  • Apply critical thinking to test case design and implementation, including off-nominal and edge case scenarios
  • Execute smoke and regression tests to validate system confidence
  • Manage and optimize existing test plans to keep in line with latest features
  • Assist in validating new consumer facing software features
  • Validate new hardware prototypes related to 3D Scan
  • Insure scans quality is accurate across a variety of representative structures
  • Assist in collection of scan data for competitive benchmarking 
  • Generate massive amounts of logged flight data and media that will be used to characterize and improve system performance
  • Execute flights at our local facilities as well as strategic sites around the United States

What makes you a good fit:

  • Software QA/testing background
  • Part 107 Certification
  • Experience with photogrammetry software
  • Practical experience with UAS and capturing media
  • Basic mechanical and electrical system integration knowledge
  • Experience operating linux based systems
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for things that fly (bonus points for sUAS Pilot's license)
  • Detail-oriented communication and documentation skills
  • Interest in spending lots of time outdoors
  • Experience with positioning systems like GPS / RTK is a plus

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000.00 - $168,000.00*.
