By combining best-in-class autonomy and cloud-connected real-time visibility, drones become the critical and ubiquitous infrastructure that can be deployed and monitored in real time to solve a variety of problems faster, cheaper, and safer than ever before.  Realizing this future requires a reliable and robust wireless communication network that spans multiple use cases and capabilities. We’re looking for you, an experienced Wireless Software Engineering Manager to join our team and tackle these challenges head on.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will manage a team of talented engineers working on multiple wireless solutions across the stack from cloud to MAC and PHY firmware layers 
  • You will enhance and improve Skydio’s various wireless solutions, extending the range and providing high-speed and secure communication
  • You will oversee the development and realization of real world innovations in WiFi and Cellular technologies and tailor them to specific drone communication use cases
  • You will work to optimize command and control latency, video streams fusion, and end to end network management for various use cases and customer needs

What makes you a good fit: 

  • Hands-on feature architecture and design experience in one or more core technologies including WiFi 802.11 and Cellular 4G-LTE/5GNR
  • Experience with WLAN software engineering with broad knowledge across the stack
  • Deep system level understanding of wireless communications and its fundamentals
  • Strong familiarity with software test coverage and automation
  • Strong management and leadership skills including the ability to plan, execute and deliver a very high quality product with a high performing team
  • Can work in a collaborative cross-functional environment alongside Systems, Software Embedded, and Hardware Engineers
  • Strong debugging skills in a variety of environments 

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $196,500 - 277,500*. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all regular, full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company's success. Regular, full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s group health insurance plans.
